Location

Le Domaine de Vertmarines offers guests access to the shops, bars and restaurants of Saint Jean de Monts, with the large sandy beaches of the Atlantic coastline just minutes away. Situated in the Vendée region of France, along the north-west coast, this area is known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities.

The accommodation can be found to the south of the town, set within 16 acres of preserved parkland. There are pretty woods between the villas and the beach, as well as farmland in the surrounding area. From here the historic city of Nantes is just over an hour drive away, with the pretty town of La Roche-sur-Yon just a 45 minute drive.

The swimming pools are open in april and heated (with an additional fee) from May 15.

The villas

Ideal for those wanting to escape the hectic pace of everyday life, each of the villas enjoys its own garden with a private pool ( from May 2nd to Sept 30th), surrounded by peaceful preserved parkland. The high-quality interiors are warm and homely, with bright décor and wooden furnishings. The exteriors are clean and bright, with plenty of space and furniture so guests can dine al fresco.

Villas sleep four to eight people, a great option for families or groups of friends. There is a large living room and well-equipped kitchen in each of the villas, with enough space for everyone to enjoy a relaxing evening.

Board options

All of the villas at Le Domaine de Vermarines are self-catered, with a fully equipped kitchen. There are three supermarkets within walking distance, allowing guests to choose delicious local ingredients, and prepare their own meals and picnics. Market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays, and offer regional delicacies such as cheese, fish, hams, bread, and fruit and vegetables for impressively low prices.

There are three restaurants within a 20-minute walk of the accommodation, serving everything from pizza and crepes to classic French dishes, and wonderful local fresh seafood and shellfish.

Activities

The 2.5km of golden sands are the launching point for a wide range of water sports, including kite surfing, body boarding and surfing. Those who prefer to stay on dry land can try accrobranche, which will have you swinging from the trees and balancing over bridges in its treetop adventure course.

Practice your swing at the par 72 golf course just outside the town, which is surrounded by the pine covered dunes and overlooks the crystal waters of the Atlantic. Animal lovers will enjoy horse riding and carriage rides, and there is also tennis and karting available.

Things to see

The eco museum in the nearby town of Le Daviaud is just a 15-minute drive away and offers a fascinating insight into the history and wildlife of the nearby marshland, Marais Breton. The water tower, Kulmino, offers an education into the science of water, as well as some stunning panoramic views of the beautiful local area.

When energy overflows, guests can venture on the 15-minute drive south to Atlantic Toboggan in St Hilaire-de-Reiz. A water and fun park, there's a large pool, slides, rapids, a wave machine, paddling pool and whirlpools to enjoy.

Saint Jean de Monts

A relatively new holiday resort found in the north-west of France in the Vendée region, Saint Jean de Monts offers a wide range of activities, shops, bars and restaurants. With plenty of history packed into its small fishing village past, the town perfectly combines authentic French tradition with what is now a modern place to holiday. Families will enjoy the many outdoor activities and water sports available, and the 2.5km of soft golden sands are a hit with all visitors.

Late arrival (after 8 pm)

Please inform the reception or the reservations centre in advance and we will advise you of the late arrival procedure.

Key collection

Check in is from 5 pm onwards. The keys are available at the reception on presentation of your voucher.

Deposit

Upon arrival, you have to pay a deposit of 1 000Eu (Visa, Mastercard, French Cheque) for your property. This will be returned to you within 15 days of your departure assuming there are no charges for breakages or additional cleaning.

Cleaning

End of Stay Cleaning is not included in the accommodation price and clients are required to clean the property before departure. Please note that cleaning products are not always provided.

An End of Stay Cleaning deposit of 96-192Eu (depending on type) will be taken upon arrival which will be returned along with your Damage Deposit.

Payment conditions

Summer France offers 3 options for payment:

1) Pay in 3 instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking, 10% two months before the date of arrival and the remaining balance one month before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available for bookings made by telephone more than 70 days before the stay.
2) Pay in two instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking and payment of the remaining balance 30 days before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available when the booking is made more than 31 days before the arrival date.
3) Pay in 1 instalment: pay the full amount at the time of booking and receive a discount of 15 GBP on the overall price of the stay. This method of payment is valid for stays of 7 nights or more, booked more than 40 days before arrival and for a minimum purchase of 150 GBP.

- Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to the final payment
- Any extras added after the final payment to be paid at the time of addition to booking.
-If the booking was made under the 'non refundable' terms, the total amount will be debited at the time of the booking (the discount of 15 GBP is not available on these prices).

Methods of payment accepted:
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cheques*, holiday vouchers*.
*(only for reservations made more than a month before arrival).
For payments desired by cheque or holiday vouchers the deposit must be paid by way of debit/credit card - Visa, Mastercard, American Express and the second and/or third payment can be made by cheque or holiday voucher.
Arrival date less than 40 days: The total amount of the booking must be paid in full online, by debit/credit card at the time of booking.

Cancellation conditions

1) If you choose Standard Conditions
If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the price of the holiday
-Between 30 days and 21 days before arrival: 45% of the price of the holiday
-Between 20 days and 8 days before arrival: 60% of the price of the holiday
-Between 7 days and 4 days before arrival: 90% of the price of the holiday
-Less than 3 days before arrival: 100% of the price of the holiday

2) If you choose Non Refundable Conditions
As part of the low price non-refundable offer, in the case of a cancellation you will be invoiced for the total amount at any time
