Summer France Les Maisons de Fontenelles make up part of the Résidence Les Fontenelles, which can be found on the outskirts of an excellent 18-hole golf course in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie in France. The Atlantic Ocean and its pretty beaches are 8km away from the property, and the historic town of Coëx lies just 5km away.

Located in the centre of France, along the Atlantic, the Vendée region of France is known for its fantastic countryside and lush open spaces. The city of Nantes can be reached in just over an hour by car and provides some excellent shopping as well as sightseeing opportunities.

The residence's swimming pool of the residence is open from 27/05 to 17/09 (subject to weather).

The accommodation

Les Maisons de Fontenelles is the perfect place for golf lovers to simply relax and unwind. Located on the fringes of the course, you won't need to travel far to practice your putting. Each of the cottages offers bright and well decorated interiors, with clean, comfortable and high-quality furnishings.

The cottages sleep from four to six people, offering plenty of space and individually decorated rooms, with almost no two cottages looking the same. There is a fully equipped kitchen with hot plates, a fridge-freezer, oven with an extractor hood and a dishwasher. Each has its own terrace overlooking a pretty private garden. The complex also has a pétanque strip to keep active guests entertained. The residence's swimming pool is open (subject to weather and government guidelines). Free WIFI only at reception.

Facilities

With its elegant architecture, the residence oozes quality and comfort. The residence offers preferential prices for the golf course. To complete your sporting holiday there are numerous cycle paths located close to the residence. The complex puts at the guests' disposal a pétanque strip.

All of the cottages at Les Maisons de Fontenelles are self-catered, with a fully equipped kitchen ideal for those who want to prepare their own meals. There is an outdoor terrace in each of the cottages, where guests can enjoy al fresco dining as well as two restaurants in the Residence Les Fontenelles, where you'll find a choice of French cuisine as well as international dishes. There is a shop within walking distance, as well as a supermarket 9km away and a hypermarket 12km away, perfect for all your self-catering needs.

Saint Gilles Croix de Vie

Saint Gilles Croix de Vie is a former fishing village filled with attractions and sites. It's pretty and serene, ideal for those on a romantic getaway or fans of the great outdoors and natural surroundings. The golden sands of the Atlantic coastline are within walking distance, with the sea providing some fantastic activities, as well as opportunities to watch the local fishermen bringing in their catch of the day.

For day trips, Nantes and La Roche-sur-Yon are both within easy driving distance, with Nantes providing further shops, bars and restaurants, while La Roche-sur-Yon is a pretty village filled with history and ideal for those wanting to explore the culture of France.

Activities

The warm temperatures found in this region of France make it ideal for picnics, hiking, walking, cycling and even horse riding. There are stunning pine forests to be explored, as well as marshlands with some interesting flora, fauna and wildlife. The Fontenelles golf course is almost literally on the doorstep, and is an ideal way to relax as you take in the pine trees and lush surroundings There are also fishing trips available from the harbour.

Animal lovers can see over 500 animals at the Animaux de la Ferme, where there is a farm as well as a wildlife park. Alternatively, head to the adventure park and spend your day above the trees for some high-energy fun. After all that activity, head to the thermal spa, where you can completely unwind.

Things to see

Hire a car and visit the nearby city of Nantes, which is just over an hour away. Here you'll find art, sites and attractions as well as historic buildings, shops, bars and restaurants to explore.

Families should spend the day at Le Puy du Fou, which offers breath-taking historic shows filled with stunts, exhibits and displays, with something suitable for all ages.

Take the trip across the sea to the Ile d'Yeu, where there is some stunning natural scenery as well as a pretty harbour, biking trails and plenty of walking trails.

Late arrival (after 7 pm)

Please inform the reception or the reservations centre in advance and we will advise you of the late arrival procedure.

Key collection

Check in is from 5 pm onwards. The keys are available at the reception on presentation of your accommodation voucher.

Deposit

On arrival you have to pay a deposit of 400Eu (Visa, Euro Card, cheque). This will be returned to you within 15 days of your departure assuming there are no charges for breakages or additional cleaning.

Cleaning

End of Stay Cleaning is not included in the accommodation price and clients are required to clean the property before departure. Please note that cleaning products are not always provided.

An End of Stay Cleaning deposit of 70-84 Eu (depending on type) will be taken upon arrival which will be returned along with your Damage Deposit.

Payment conditions

Summer France offers 3 options for payment:

1) Pay in 3 instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking, 10% two months before the date of arrival and the remaining balance one month before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available for bookings made by telephone more than 70 days before the stay.
2) Pay in two instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking and payment of the remaining balance 30 days before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available when the booking is made more than 31 days before the arrival date.
3) Pay in 1 instalment: pay the full amount at the time of booking and receive a discount of 15 GBP on the overall price of the stay. This method of payment is valid for stays of 7 nights or more, booked more than 40 days before arrival and for a minimum purchase of 150 GBP.

- Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to the final payment
- Any extras added after the final payment to be paid at the time of addition to booking.
-If the booking was made under the 'non refundable' terms, the total amount will be debited at the time of the booking (the discount of 15 GBP is not available on these prices).

Methods of payment accepted:
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cheques*, holiday vouchers*.
*(only for reservations made more than a month before arrival).
For payments desired by cheque or holiday vouchers the deposit must be paid by way of debit/credit card - Visa, Mastercard, American Express and the second and/or third payment can be made by cheque or holiday voucher.
Arrival date less than 40 days: The total amount of the booking must be paid in full online, by debit/credit card at the time of booking.

Cancellation conditions

- If you choose Standard Conditions

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the price of the holiday
-Between 30 days and 21 days before arrival: 45% of the price of the holiday
-Between 20 days and 8 days before arrival: 60% of the price of the holiday
-Between 7 days and 4 days before arrival: 90% of the price of the holiday
-Less than 3 days before arrival: 100% of the price of the holiday

- If you choose Free Cancellation Conditions

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the arrival date: repayment of the deposit
-Between 30 days and the date of arrival: 100% of the total price will be retained.
-No show: the total price of the reservation will be retained

- If you choose Non Refundable Conditions

As part of the low price non-refundable offer, in the case of a cancellation you will be invoiced for the total amount at any time
